Description
The North and South Bubbles are synonymous with a visit to Jordan Pond in Acadia National Park. They are so prominent on the northern horizon and reflected on the surface of the pond that they rule the visual terrain.
The North Bubble has the highest elevation at 872 feet. The South Bubble follows at 766 feet.
A carriage road on the western side of Jordan Pond provides spectacular views of the mountains. There is also a hiking path surrounding the pond and well as a trail leading to the Bubbles.
You can reach The Bubbles and Jordan Pond via the Park Loop Road. This particular section, located approximately in the lower-right quadrant of the island, allows for two way traffic traveling north or south.
